Be Determined

In 2 Timothy 4, Paul concludes the second of his two letters to Timothy.

At this time in Paul’s life, the end is near. Paul is in prison. He is alone. But his focus is on the message that he thinks Timothy desperately needs to hear.

In the final few verses of this letter, Paul emphasizes that Timothy’s job is very simple: Preach Jesus. And then he adds some final advice that Timothy can use in dealing with the struggles that are sure to come.

“This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.'”

2 Chronicles 20:15 (NIV)
