Dismiss the Crowd!

Note: This is the second in Mike’s series on “The Power of Time.”

This lesson focuses on the importance of family time. Given the influence that mom and dad have on their children’s lives, is it possible to overestimate the value of “family time?”

Most people understand the value of family, but many are willing to prioritize other things ahead of family – job, career, income, etc. It has been said that the time you don’t spend with your children is the greatest threat to your family.

Are we listening to the world, or are we listening to God?

Scripture References:

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone.

Matthew 14:22-23 (NIV)

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

Philippians 1:9-11 (NIV)
