Summer Series: 2 Timothy 1

This lesson on 2 Timothy 1 is presented by Joel Osborn.

Paul’s second letter to Timothy begins with a healthy dose of encouragement to rely on the Spirit of God – for love, for power, and for self-discipline. Perhaps Timothy is yet to encounter the worst in terms of opposition. Perhaps Paul senses that Timothy is wavering as he observes the suffering Paul is enduring.

Regardless, Paul uses this first chapter to “remind” Timothy of who he is and where he has come from.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
