Summer Series: Hebrews 5

Hebrews 5 – Rick Burke

This is the 5th lesson in our 2017 Wednesday Night Summer Series. Rick is the pastor of Cedar Point Church in Claremore, OK, and the co-author of “HeartWork: How God Can Mend Your Heart and Change Your Story.”

Hebrews 5 is probably best understood by beginning the narrative in Hebrews 4:14. In this chapter, the writer focuses on Jesus’ role as High Priest, but not one as defined by the Old Covenant.

In this dynamic lesson, Rick shares a message of maturity in Jesus, which results when God’s Word is implanted in your heart.

“During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered…”
