The Soul Cries Out for Freedom

What is freedom exactly? Is it getting exactly what we want when we want it?

Whatever it is, it seems clear that our souls cry out for it. But if freedom is only about getting what I want or doing what I want, is that really freedom – or just selfishness?

“The ability to have anything you want can actually cost you your freedom.”  — John Ortberg

In this lesson, Dan demonstrates how the pursuit of everything you want – and the “freedom” to do so – can easily lead to a prison of despair. It can rob your soul of the very thing you think you have come to possess – your freedom.

Learn the three areas where the soul can get trapped.

“But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”

James 1:25 (NIV)
