Vision to Reality

Mike continues his series based on the book of Nehemiah.

Clarity is incredibly important when something needs to be done. There is nothing quite as frustrating as working on the wrong things, or trying to working hard on something without knowing what the objective might be.

Nehemiah’s first, and possibly most important, step in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem is to set forth a crystal clear vision for the work, with a compelling reason for signing up (“so that we will no longer be in disgrace!”).

What vision do you have for your life? For rebuilding your walls?

Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.” I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me.

They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work.”
