In this chapter, Paul addresses Timothy as a teacher. He instructs Timothy to stay in Ephesus, where apparently there is a fair amount of conflict. He calls Timothy to address the issues because it is “loving” (verse 5). Is it possible that you’re in a position rife with conflict, and you need to stay?
Only Peter had the courage to jump out of the boat and attempt to walk on water…and he didn’t just talk a good game, he got out of the boat!! How about you? Do you feel more comfortable – more safe – in the boat? What keeps you from daring to trust Jesus completely??
