Summer Series: Hebrews 12

Hebrews 12 – Mike Baskett

Mike is the minister at the OpenDoor Church of Christ.

Hebrews is a book that continually presses the reader to understand the supremacy of Jesus – over Moses and Melchizedek and the Law.

In chapter 12, the writer encourages Christians to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, seeing Jesus in everything and in every situation. This takes on greater importance, the writer says, because life is a race – an endurance race – and there is so much that can easily “entangle” us as we run.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
