This is the first lesson in a 8-lesson series entitled “Overcoming Overload.” It is based on the book by Steve Farrar of the same name, Overcoming Overload: Seven Ways to Find Rest in Your Chaotic World.
Life can be overwhelming.
Just the pace of life can be crushing. Activities. Responsibilities. Work. Kids. There are more and more and more things to do, but there seems to be less time to do them.
There are three lies that we should be aware of and to which we often fall prey. We are especially vulnerable when our “lives get so busy.”
In this lesson, Mike introduces the idea of “life overload” and details the three lies that Satan uses to manipulate our lives.
To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
