This lesson continues the teaching from the Wednesday Night Summer Series of lessons from 1-2 Peter and 1-3 John. This sermon is from 1 Peter 3.
Isn’t it fascinating what we consider “suffering” to be in today’s world?
When a fast food place gets your to-go order wrong, maybe?
Waiting too long at a stop light?
OK…being sick for a prolonged period of time? Losing your job.
Is that suffering?
Apparently not. Jesus and the apostles endured the most heinous of treatment, and counted it as a blessing: “They called the apostles in and had them flogged…” but they went away “REJOICING” (Acts 5:40 NIV).
In this lesson, Mike explores how we view the concept of suffering and the ways it can change our perception of life.
“But REJOICE inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.”
1 Peter 4:13 (NIV)
