Peter says the death of Jesus “ransomed” mankind from an “empty way of life” (1 Peter 1:18 NIV). That ransom was accomplished by the trading of one life for many, resulting in the crucifixion of the Son of God.
Yes, the blood of Christ was given to “ransom” us from certain death, but do we see it for the GIFT that it is?
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
