Hebrews 11 – Bill Detherage
Bill and his wife, Colleen, are long-time members at Broken Arrow Church of Christ, where Bill has served for years as a deacon. He owns and manages a landscape and construction company in Broken Arrow.
Francis Chan once asked, “What are you doing right now that requires faith?” Faith, the Hebrew writer says, is absolutely necessary to please God (11:6), so the question is very real.
In chapter 11, it is said many times, “By faith…” By faith, each individual mentioned in chapter 11 responded to God in obedience.
What are you…doing…in obedience?
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.”
