In Romans 15:5, Paul asks that God would give us the “same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.” What does that look like exactly?
What does mean to have the same attitude as Christ? What impact does it (or should it) have on our daily lives?
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Philippians 2:5-8
The answer is this: to deeply want – to truly want – to serve each other; to desire to be a blessing to others; to be obedient when it is most difficult.
“And we the redeemed shall be strong, in purpose and unity. Declaring aloud – praise and glory, wisdom and thanks, honor and power and strength.”
