Due to the holiday and no Wednesday night service, Mike takes a week off from the sermon series taken from 1 Corinthians. Today’s sermon has taken from the Sermon on the Mount.
During the Thanksgiving holiday, thoughts turn to family and fellowship, and the blessings in our lives we are grateful for. It’s the time of year we consider and discuss our priorities.
In Matthew 6, Jesus talks about priorities. “No one can serve two masters,” he says. “You cannot serve both God and ‘treasure.'”
The problem, Jesus says, is “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21 NIV).”
Are you focused on the eternal?
“Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
Luke 12:15 (NIV)
