A Vision for Evangelism and Apologetics

In this lesson, Vince established the need for all Christians to “be prepared to give an answer,” or a defense, to those who have questions about God, the gospel, or any of the more common objections to Christianity. In addition, he makes the case that apologetics (from the Greek “apologia” – a defense) in the absence of evangelism is an exercise without merit.

Note: There is a point at about 25 minutes into his presentation where Vince shows a video clip as an illustration of a key point. The audio from the clip is not captured in the sermon, so the presentation may seem to “skip” without explanation.

1 Peter 3:15-16 (NIV)

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
